Test your rig on “Rock Chucker” and “Widow Maker.”

This iconic loop follows around Arths Rim and offers a variety of fun, difficult obstacles. Many great views including one of the best overlooks in Moab. This trail has gotten much more difficult over the years. When we first drove it in 1999, “Widow Maker” was only about 4 ft. high. It’s doubled since then and growing. Very few vehicles can get up it without winching. We suggest you team up and have a second vehicle take the bypass to the top of the obstacle to winch or serve as a winch point. This trail sees a lot of OHVs and is especially popular with UTVs. Can be busy on weekends.

Lifts, bigger tires and lockers are recommended. Not for stock vehicles. Optional “Rock Chucker” is extreme and for big rigs only. Lots of barren slickrock make route-finding challenging. Possible large new roads for drilling activity may be confusing. Fortunately, the trail is well-marked with MM signs, white dashes, and black tire marks. Stay toward center of designated route to prevent trail widening. Not recommended for ATVs.
