We could make a case for upping the rating on this trail because some of the rock sections along the last part are a bit more exposed. But it’s so close; we’ll leave the rating at moderate. The worst spot has a bypass, but other spots are a bit more difficult. A skilled driver in a high-clearance vehicle like my stock Wrangler Sport will have no problems. I took a different winding route along the hillside to get to Rovey’s Needle (shown in the book with a brown line and an ATV symbol.) It was very steep in spots but really fun in my Jeep. You can’t get a good photo of Rovey’s Needle that shows how cool it is. Make sure you go up there. Also, I found a hiking trail at the end of the trail (Wpt. 07) that avoids the thick brush to the river. Follow a path to the right that tunnels through the brush then comes out and climbs to the top of a hill. From there you get a great view of the mouth of Bill Williams River.

Drove this on March 26, 2021. Had a lot of fun in our 2020 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro (32s, 1.5 inch lift, armor). Definitely some impressively steep sections in areas and not for novice drivers. The needle is an amazingly neat feature and the photos you can get with your vehicle parked out on the narrow ridge approach are super cool. Make sure to climb up to check out the windows. We decided to park and walk the last 0.3 miles. I'd put this section at difficult now. I know we could have made it, but it was late and we were running solo and didn't want to chance something stupid happening versus just walking a half of a mile. I don't think I would have been comfortable doing this area without skids and rock sliders though on a larger vehicle. The final overlook view at the end of the trail is worth the effort to get to it. Great spot. Did not really have any expectations for this one and super happy we took the time to break up our drive and do it.
