Remarkable canyon-bottom adventure. See numerous and massive Indian-dwelling ruins, Indian writings and stunning scenery. Plus, you’ll get a thorough explanation of what it all means. We used our own vehicle in 2011 however, as of 2013 you cannot drive your own vehicle and now have to use a tour guide to view the canyon. Rim drive is free. Visit the National Parks website or go to the Visitor Center and ask for a list of tour companies. In the morning, on-board guides are usually available.

No personal vehicles can drive the canyon anymore. Only locally owned and operated Navajo jeep companies are allowed in the canyon.
