Rock Creek

Climbs to high ridge at edge of Indian Peaks Wilderness.

A simple in-and-out trip that starts in rustic Allenspark, then climbs to a high ridge at the edge of Indian Peaks Wilderness. Good camping along the way, including a camp spot at the top, but trees block any views. We suspected there was a hiking trail into the wilderness somewhere, but didn’t see it. Rock Creek Ski Area (site) is on the left about halfway up, but there’s not much left to see. Rocky, but mostly easy. More narrow and steep at the top.
