Lightly used back road traverses the lower eastern slopes of Twin Sisters Peaks. Southern end is relatively flat with large shaded dispersed camp spots. Popular area for unlicensed vehicles. Most of route is in trees with occasional views from high points. Some side roads to explore, including several around Pierson Park on the north end of trail. Trail can be driven in either direction. Open June 15 to Nov. 30.

The split-off on the left labeled as 247-D continues the loop is closed permanently. You must take a small bypass that has washouts and puts you back at the midway point. Still a great trail but the original gpx file is no longer correct.

As was the case throughout the region, the 2013 flood washed out several sections of this trail. Most have been repaired, but one section running through rugged terrain remains permanently closed. The trail can be accessed from either end and run to the closure, but it is no longer possible to travel through by motor vehicle. The forest service installed a sign at the closure explaining the situation.

Trail closed at 5.4 miles due to Twin Sisters Landslide. See the picture of the kiosk at the turnaround.
