Overview

Short, rough climb to high views.

Short, fun family outing. Real adventure, but not overwhelmingly difficult. Kids will love exploring at the top. Views on a clear day. Foundation of old fire tower makes great spot for lunch. Good dispersed camping along the route. Lots of aspen for great fall color. Trail is open June 15 through Nov. 30, weather permitting. Room to unload unlicensed OHVs at the bottom.

Gets steeper as you climb. Rocky, rutted and muddy in places. Aggressive stock SUVs with good articulation and high ground clearance can do it with experienced driver.

William Piper says

Local redneck land owner has blocked this road with a very large tree, and there is no way around. This route is no longer accessible.
