Overview

Climbs high into Roosevelt National Forest.

First part of route crosses private land. Signs posted by landowners cause some people to question if it’s legal to proceed. The signs apply to land on each side of road, not the road itself. After 1.2 miles, you enter the Roosevelt National Forest. Please pass through quietly and keep moving first 1.2 miles. We recommend that unlicensed vehicles unload at parking area at 2.9 miles.

Trail Ratings Defined

This rating applies to just the last part of trail. First 4 miles is easy and uneventful. After that, route gradually gets more interesting. Left at Waypoint 02 leads to network of roads that get too narrow for Jeeps, but are great for ATVs and dirt bikes. This trail is open all year, so it makes a great winter snow run.

We were on this trail on 06/06/2020. It rained on our way up, the trail was fun. Narrows down towards the end and has a few trees partially down over the trail that might cause some clearance issues if you have a rooftop tent.
