Overview

Area BFE is closed, see below update.

Area BFE is a unique, privately owned, 320-acre recreation park. Entry is free. The OHV-friendly owners bought the land to create a hassle-free play area for offroaders. Please observe what few rules there are. The Upper Lot is for day use and parking only. You’ll find a few picnic tables, but no toilets or trash dumpsters (except for temporary facilities brought in for special events). Overnight camping is allowed in the Lower Lot on the east end. Pack out everything you bring, including toilet paper. When camping, although not required, it’s a good idea to bring a portable toilet and firewood. Don’t cut down trees, drive over shrubs or remove rocks. Donations are appreciated and a secure dropbox is provided near the entrance. You may drive trails in any order or any direction. The route described here is a suggestion to maximize the experience. It is a favorite route of Moab Friends for Wheelin,’ the local 4-wheel-drive club that has helped build many of the trails and knows the area well.

Trail Ratings Defined

Extremely Difficult. The best way to see the park without encountering any extreme obstacles is to drive Strike Ravine, Trail #38. Otherwise, all trails described here have one or more extreme obstacles. Some are off to the side and some have bypasses, but be prepared for some amazing challenges. Parts of trails are too difficult for ATVs, UTVs and dirt bikes, but riders are welcome to try what’s doable.
