A short but enjoyable trail up a wide valley below Grays and Torreys Peaks. These two 14,000-ft. peaks feature two of Colorado’s most popular hiking trails. Many hikers walk up the road to reach the trailhead. Please be courteous and give them plenty of room. This is a sensitive riparian area; absolutely stay on the road at all times. Creek crossings can be deep during early summer runoff. Very photogenic.

This trail has gotten rougher than when I last drove it in 2010. It has several places with larger boulders that require extra ground clearance and careful tire placement. I now rate the trail “Difficult.”
