Overview

Views in all directions when you get to the top.

Trail looks down on Lost Canyon from high point near top of Quail Mountain. Views in all directions from overlooks include Twin Lakes Reservoir, Mt. Elbert and Clear Creek Reservoir. Great camping and mountain biking on lower portion. Accesses Cache Creek, a very popular gold-panning area open to the public. Unlicensed vehicles allowed on forest roads west of Waypoint 01.

My friends drove up there this morning and the cable has been taken down. The top can be accessed. We will see how long this lasts.

The road was closed part way not even going to mine Sept 2020. Unknown if temporary or permanent.
Author note: We could not verify where or why the road was closed. 2019 (which is legal for 2020) MVUM says it is still legal with no seasonal closures. https://www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DOCUMENTS/fseprd681154.pdf
