See Lost Burro Mine, Teakettle Junction and “moving rocks.”

Large loop winds through mountains and across desert inside Death Valley National Park. Great scenery with stops at old mining camp and Racetrack Playa, known for its mysterious moving rocks. If you’re on north side of park, you can start loop from Waypoint 04 by heading south on Racetrack Valley Road from Grapevine Station south of Scottys Castle. Streetlegal vehicles only. Pay park fee.

One of the best loops in Death Valley NP - We did the loop clockwise climbing Lippincott Mine road and Hunter Mountain rather going down them as described in your California guide. Lippincott Mine road was rougher then I've seen it before but Hunter Mountain had been recently re-graded and was smoother then I'd ever seen it. Scenic and well described in your guide as a moderate trail: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2lpr7gGOyMo

Just ran this trail as described in the book and it’s awesome. A little disappointing that they graded Hunter mountain so that’s easy but great views. The sandy section further along is deep and I wouldn’t do it with less than 33” tires. Also, stay left of the middle to avoid the deeper sand. Lippincott road was definitely moderate and glad to have Rubicon suspension and tires for that. Overall, just a great loop to experience DV.
